West Wood blvd – 14 May 2026 | Prime Video’s highly anticipated adaptation of Elle Kennedy‘s bestselling hockey romance series, Off Campus, has added a fresh face to its ensemble. India Fowler steps into the role of Grace Ivers, a freshman sociology major who quickly becomes the object of Logan’s affection, promising new layers of intrigue as the series moves toward its second season.
The streaming drama, developed by Louisa Levy and Gina Fattore, follows college student Hannah Wells (Ella Bright) as she navigates a fake relationship with Briar University hockey captain Garrett Graham (Belmont Cameli) to catch the eye of her crush, Justin. While Hannah and Garrett’s romance anchors the narrative, the show has boldly interwoven the secret love story of Hannah’s best friend Allie Hayes (Mika Abdulla) and defenseman Dean Di‑Laurentis (Stephen Kalyn), a plotline originally reserved for a separate novel in Kennedy’s series.
Adapting a beloved book series for a modern audience required several strategic changes. The production team incorporated the evolving name, image, and likeness (NIL) landscape that now defines college athletics, introduced a non‑binary sibling named Jules to expand representation, and deepened the friendship between Garrett and Logan (Antonio Cipriano) with heightened tension. Most notably, the series elevated the character of Hunter Davenport (Charlie Evans), making him a pivotal figure in Dean and Allie’s conflict—a deviation from the source material that sets up fresh drama for upcoming episodes.
In a recent interview, creator Louisa Levy disclosed that she had not read the books before being approached by Temple Hill. “I binged the audiobooks at double speed to meet my deadline,” she joked, adding that the rapid consumption only heightened her excitement for the characters. Lead actress Ella Bright echoed this enthusiasm, recalling how she devoured the entire series after landing the part, reading The Deal in a single day and promising to wait for season‑two renewal before tackling the next installments.
India Fowler’s casting as Grace Ivers marks a significant addition to the show’s romantic tapestry. Grace, a thoughtful sociology student, becomes Logan’s early love interest, setting the stage for a potential love triangle that could rival the series’ central pairings. Fowler, a rising talent known for her nuanced performances, brings depth to Grace’s earnest yet conflicted personality. Her chemistry with Cipriano has already generated buzz among fans, who speculate that their storyline could become a focal point of season two, especially as the series hints at expanding Logan’s narrative beyond the original books.
Antonio Cipriano and Stephen Kalyn, portraying Logan and Dean respectively, emphasized the show’s commitment to portraying hockey players with emotional maturity and charisma. Cipriano noted a scene in episode four where Dean delivers a thoughtful monologue to Garrett, showcasing the characters’ layered personalities beyond typical jock stereotypes. Kalyn, a former hockey player himself, praised the creators for crafting characters who balance toughness with vulnerability, a balance that resonates with contemporary audiences.
The series’ finale introduced a surprising twist: the enigmatic “Carter St. James V,” later revealed as Hunter Davenport, a freshman player whose strained relationship with Dean stems from past connections with Dean’s sister Summer. This subplot, drawn from Kennedy’s extended Briar U universe, promises heightened conflict and new romantic entanglements in the forthcoming season. Whether the focus will shift toward Dean and Allie’s burgeoning romance or Logan and Grace Ivers—portrayed by India Fowler—remains a tantalizing question for viewers.
Fans can also look forward to the return of beloved supporting characters and the introduction of fresh faces, as the show continues to blend book fidelity with inventive storytelling. The creators have confirmed that season two will delve deeper into the NIL dynamics affecting college athletes, explore Grace’s academic pursuits, and potentially expand the role of Hunter Davenport, whose arc could intersect with both the main and secondary love stories.
Overall, Off Campus demonstrates how a well‑crafted adaptation can honor its literary roots while forging new paths. With India Fowler’s compelling addition as Grace Ivers, the series is poised to captivate both longtime fans of Elle Kennedy’s novels and newcomers drawn to the blend of sports, romance, and youthful ambition.
